Turn-of-the-century developments; the emancipation of tonality and rhythm; impressionism; expressionism; atonality; twelve-tone music; neo-classicism; post-war developments (total serialism, aleatoric music, electronic music, minimalism, music theatre).

This is an existing advanced module. It is suitable for those students of Music Technology who have not covered the subject area in their previous studies(such as non-music graduates with teaching diplomas). Students must have approval of the course committee before registering for this module.
